What Is Holistic Addiction Recovery

Holistic approaches to substance use disorder treatment focus on increasing the overall health and well-being of individuals. These methods promote improving physical health, emotional balance and the exploration of broader meaning. These approaches compliment mindfulness-based cognitive approaches such as Dialectical Behavioral Therapy (DBT), Acceptance and Commitment Therapy (ACT), and Mind Body Bridging.

Collective Recovery offers yoga and meditation as exercises in mindfulness as well as nutrition and physical fitness. Nutrition and physical movement are an important part of health and well-being and support the recovery process through healing of the body. Mindfulness exercises have been proven to reduce stress and anxiety. Those who implement these practices often report increased internal awareness and an expansion of spiritual health.

Collective Recovery also offers music therapy in a group and family setting. Music therapy can add for an additional way for individuals to express themselves in a safe and fun environment. Music Therapy is an evidence-based method to improve individuals physical, psychological, emotional and behavioral health. Our music therapy groups are facilitated by an individual who has completed a Bachelors Degree in Music Therapy in conjunction with a mental health therapist.

Collective Recovery is focused on improving all areas of its clients lives in order to improve protective factors to promote long term recovery. At Collective Recovery we believe that the recovery process must not be solely focused on problematic behaviors but should encourage healthy activities, habits and behaviors.
